Transcriptions of excerpts from articles in Presbyterian of the West, 1848-1860 and the Presbyter 1859-1866 relating to the intent to establish a denominational college under the auspices of the Synod of Cincinnati and the Synod of Ohio. Many of the articles focus on the location for this college, and on the final selection of Wooster, due in part to contributions by local citizens. The institution was established as The University of Wooster in 1866.
